MANGALIDONE

INCI: Manganese PCA

Description

Mitochondrial protector

Definition: Manganese salt of LPyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid (LPCA), a physiological component of the epidermis, obtained by cyclization of L-glutamic acid.

Mode of action: Useful to cells at very low concentration, manganese is a trace element which is essential for the organism especially for promoting the super oxide dismutase (SOD) activity, an enzyme protecting the skin against free radicals and located into mitochondria. MANGALIDONE is a choice active ingredient to activate the coding RNA messenger (RNAm) expression for Mn-SOD (preventive and curative effect) but also to fight against oxidative stress (antiradical effect).

MANGALIDONE at 0.0016% stimulates the RNAm of MnSOD:
• preventive effect (without UV): + 74%
• curative effect (with UV): + 169%

Water Soluble.
