CERAMIDONE

INCI: Octyldodecyl PCA

Description

Skin barrier restructurer
Definition: Branched octyldodecylic ester of L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid (LPCA), a physiological component of the epidermis.

Mode of action: The bi-lipidic structure of CERAMIDONE, similar to the skin ceramides one (with a polar head and two lipophilic carbonated chains), allows by biomimetism to help to restructure the skin barrier. CERAMIDONE stimulates the synthesis of epidermal lipids, especially cerebrosides and ceramides 1 and 2. Perfectly adapted to make-up products, CERAMIDONE can be also used in all kinds of treatment to reinforce the skin’s integrity.

Action of CERAMIDONE at 1% on the synthesis of epidermal lipids:
• cerebrosides: + 61%
• ceramides 1: + 90%
• ceramides 2: + 65%

Oil Soluble.
